Do I really need an SPG?
Yes. Your SPG (Submersible Pressure Gauge 潛水壓力錶) shows how much air you have left. Every diver needs one, regardless of experience level.
What bar scale should I choose?
Most divers in Melbourne use 0–300 bar SPGs because almost all tanks are filled to 200–232 bar. If you are new to diving, this is the safe and standard option.
Will the SPG fit my regulator?
All SPGs we stock use the standard HP (high-pressure) connection. They fit almost every regulator on the market, including rental and student gear.
What is the difference between brass and lightweight SPGs?
Brass SPGs are heavier and extremely durable. Lightweight SPGs are smaller and ideal for travel. Both work the same — it’s mostly a comfort and preference choice.
Do I need a glow-in-the-dark or luminous SPG?
Luminous markings help you read your gauge on low-light shore dives such as Mornington Peninsula or night dives around Black Rock.
How often should an SPG be serviced?
Most divers replace the hose or O-rings every 1–2 years. Bring your SPG into Simple Dive and we can check hose condition and HP swivel safety during your regular servicing.
Can I replace the SPG hose myself?
It’s recommended to have a technician do it to ensure no HP leaks. Incorrect installation can lead to rapid gas loss underwater.
