Ready to progress into technical gas production? The TDI Advanced Gas Blender course builds on the nitrox foundation, teaching candidates to prepare advanced nitrox and helium-based trimix mixtures used in technical diving.

Course overview

This advanced program covers the knowledge, precision and safety procedures required to prepare and verify high-quality breathing-gas mixtures containing helium.

What you will learn

• Oxygen and helium safety: Handling, hazard prevention and compatible system design.
• Advanced equipment: Compressors, filtration systems, cylinders and gas-analysis equipment.
• Advanced mixing techniques: Methods and calculations used to produce precise nitrox and trimix mixtures.
• Quality control: Analysis, verification, cylinder handling and logging procedures.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 18.
• Certification: TDI Nitrox Gas Blender or an accepted equivalent.

Certification outcome

Successful graduates may engage in blending mixtures containing helium, subject to applicable workplace procedures and regulations.
